Washington Parents Fight for Medical Marijuana Use at Schools

There is a small group of parents in Washington State that continue to fight for the right to give their child medical marijuana while at school. The state’s current law doesn’t allow for use on school grounds, even for medicinal purposes.

House Bill 1060 is still working its way through the state’s Legislature, according to KGMI Radio. While House Bill 1060 wouldn’t allow use whenever needed, it would permit a limited amount of medical marijuana use on school grounds.

The godmother of a pediatric medical marijuana patients said, “I’m here to tell you now, it’s not a dangerous thing to let this girl have her medicine at school.”

Her statement is in regards to her goddaughter requiring medical marijuana throughout the day just to be able to go to school.
